Chogogo Resort believes in corporate and social responsibility. This means that we operate our business with great regard for the local environment and the local community. We would like you to consider and be aware of the following issues:
Towels
Every day we have fresh towels available at the reception. Beach and bath towels can be changed whenever you like. Every third day your accommodation will be cleaned. Please consider the environment and do not change your towels when it is not necessary.
We try to keep our garden well maintained with several local plants. Please consider and respect the garden and the animals. The stray animals on the resort are being treated and are taken care of by Chogogo Resort and by the local organizations for animal welfare.
Air Conditioning
The air conditioners are the biggest energy consumers on the resort. Therefore all the air conditioners in the units contain an energy saving system. In order to operate this system, you need to close all doors and windows in the bedroom. We highly appreciate that you shut down the air conditioning system when you leave your accommodation.
Local culture
Curaçao has a very rich culture, impressive history and many special activities and attractions. Papiamentu, Dutch and English are official languages on Curaçao. Please respect our culture, traditions and rights. Our front desk is more than happy to answer all of your questions about the local customs.
Reused waste water in the gardens
All waste water is collected in septic tanks, filtyered and reused for garden irrigation. Our lush garden has a great demand for water each day. That is why the irrigation process happens day and night. Every section is watered for approximately 15 minutes. This may cause some unpleasant odors. We ask for your understanding.
Waste
On Curaçao the recycling of waste is in its infancy. Chogogo Resort however, promotes recycling when possible. Therefore, we ask you to deposit all glass bottles, cans and plastic bottles at the recycle stations located throughout the resort. We will continue searching for better methods to recycle waste.
Lights
All the lights on the resort are energy efficient. Please avoid unnecessary use of lighting.
